In Liberia, West Africa

I live in Livonia NY on a farm. I enjoy homesteading, gardening, soap making, hiking and pottery making.

I have been involved with childbirth and women's health since 2006 and became licensed as a midwife in 2015. I have had the privilege of assisting at over 300 births both as a nurse at Noyes Health in Dansville NY and as a midwife with Welcome Home Midwifery.

I have an RN from Genesee Community College (2011), a BS from Roberts Wesleyan College (2013) and a MSN with midwifery certificate from Frontier Nursing University (2015). I am also a Certified Lactation Counselor and Childbirth Educator. I had the opportunity to serve as a missionary midwife in Liberia, West Africa for a month and hope to participate in other international midwifery work in the future.

Christina Kranz

Certified Nurse Midwife

I have been a midwife since 1998. I am a graduate of Barnard College (BA Political Science1987), Binghamton University (BS Nursing 1995), and the University of Pennsylvania, where I received my midwifery education (MSN 1997). I am board certified as a nurse midwife by the American Midwifery Certification Board and I maintain my certification through continuing education.

In addition to joyfully serving families with Welcome Home Midwifery since 2012, I have provided hospital-based midwifery care and well-woman gynecology in rural and urban communities in the United States. I am also fortunate to have worked as a midwife and women’s health care consultant and educator in Armenia, where I lived with my family for

several years and return frequently.

I live in the Rochester area with my family. My partner Vincent and I have two lively daughters, both born gently into the hands of midwives. I am a dedicated practitioner of yoga, and I enjoy weaving, cooking, international travel, and time in the natural world.

I live in Geneseo, NY.  In my spare time I enjoy playing music, dancing, gardening, sewing, reading, cooking, and spending time with my family - four grown sons who were all born at home, and four delightful grandchildren.

I have been involved with home birth since 1977 and practicing midwifery since 1981, and have had the honor and pleasure to assist in over 1300 births, mostly in the home birth setting.

I am a New York State licensed Certified Nurse Midwife with an RN from Tompkins-Cortland Community College in Dryden  NY (1978), and a Certificate of Midwifery from SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn NY (1981).
